This unique golf course is located entirely on a peninsula along the southeast coast of Hainan Island close to Sanya, with the South China Sea lapping alongside 9 holes, and visible from all 18. This interesting stretch of coastline is now home to many new 5 star hotels, with beautiful stretches of white sand beaches overlooking the South China Sea.

Hainan Island has been on the travelling golfers radar for quite some time now, with many outstanding courses in the southern area around Sanya. With the turquoise waters, white sand beaches and delicious seafood available, the “Hawaii of China” beckons tourists from across Asia to enjoy this paradise.

Located only 35 minutes from downtown Sanya, and 20 minutes from Yalong Bay, this IMG Design offers scenery rarely found on golf courses these days. Opened in October 2009, the course offers stunning views from the various high points of the golf course and every hole has views of the South China Sea, with 9 holes playing along the shoreline. The golf course was designed so that the many stunning natural features were retained as the golf course winds its way around the tropical, rocky peninsula. The massive rock outcroppings can be seen from not only the Clubhouse, but come into play on 12 holes, and when found down on the waterside holes, these truly have created some amazingly photogenic golf holes.

The course has won a few awards and also hosted a professional tournament.
